Brick Phone Concept

SEP - NOV 2023

MAR - APR 2024

This project consisted of two phases: conceptualizing a family of objects, by creating physical, to-scale models, followed by refining the designs in CAD and rendering software. The goal was to design a cohesive set of objects inspired by an existing item, ensuring the original source remained nearly unrecognizable.

I developed two high-fidelity models, which were featured in UIC School of Design's Newsletter, receiving a commendation for craftsmanship. This project highlighted my passion for retro design and allowed me to showcase creativity in both physical and digital mediums.

Inspiration:

The object was a 1980's Panasonic FM 27 cassette player/radio. Having originally been white, it has yellowed from being stored in the garage for decades.
